Sicilian-Malaysian restaurant Kith Eatery opens in Nedlands

Sicilian-Malaysian restaurant Kith Eatery opens in Nedlands

It’s Saturday morning and Kith Eatery is busy. What more could you expect from one of Perth’s most anticipated new developments?

Keith means “familiar friends and neighbors” and the place is full of both as it has become the neighborhood hub for the communities of Nedlands and Shenton Park.

“The response has been incredible. We couldn’t ask for more,” says Jess Chisari-Sniuwiagt, who along with her husband Joel Sneuwiagt (both former Someday Coffee Co. employees) opened Kith in the old Jack Spratt’s Deli.

Menu items reference the duo’s Sicilian and Chinese-Malaysian heritage. Popular breakfast items include a chili scrambled egg, an English muffin with pork, fennel sausage and egg, and a bowl of salmon jerky.

“Lunch is all about hot honey chicken focaccia and mortadella focaccia, served with fries,” says Chisari-Sneuwiagt. — We also ate chicken broth from Aunt Mary over the weekend.

The Tropical Iced Matcha, combining mango, passion fruit, matcha and honey, is the highlight of the drinks menu. “Matcha has definitely been one of the most popular dishes, along with Quite Mont Blanc, which is traditionally made with orange zest and cream, but we mixed it up a little with lime and coconut cream,” she says.

Treats from Natasha Brownfield’s Teeter Bakery will also be available.

As the weather gets warmer, there are plans to introduce an evening service in mid-November, but for now the umbrellas have just gone up for daytime visitors.
