Adorable, imaginative, imaginative and fun: There are many wonderful ways to describe the happy Halloween cards that appear on the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles website each fall.

But here’s another great word to add to this bold list: local.

While the trio of 2024 Halloween cards does feature some of the holiday’s cute and spooky elements—pumpkins, ghosts, and witches—the images also feature Southern California locations: Griffith Observatory is home to the Pacific Rim and DTLA, too, as well. also a few palm trees.

“Right now, a generous donor will donate $1 to CHLA for every Halloween card sent to a child in the hospital through Oct. 31, up to $50,000—so you can make a difference in more ways than one,” the card website says. and margins to add an uplifting note.

Regarding the messages suggested by CHLA? “To ensure a fun and positive holiday for children, please focus on the spirit of Halloween rather than ‘get well’ notes,” the hospital recommends.
