Munster Rugby and the IRFU are pleased to confirm that center Brian Fitzgerald has signed a three-month contract extension with the province.

Since joining Munster rugby in the summer, Brian has represented the province four times, twice in pre-season, while he played for the URC against Ospreys and Zebres, scoring his first Munster try in Parma .

Fitzgerald put in a number of excellent performances for Garrywen last season, including scoring in the Bank of Ireland Senior Munster Challenge Cup final and in the Division 1B play-off final as his club were relegated to Division 1A.

The Limerick man, who played rugby at his school for Crescent College Comprehensive and had two caps for Irish clubs, put in an outstanding performance for the AIL Select XV that faced Munster A in May, scoring two tries.

The 25-year-old has made two appearances for Garrywen in the AIL this season, most recently in Limerick’s clash with St Mary’s College at the weekend.
