DNCC is conducting an eviction drive in Gulshan to demolish illegal shops and structures

The Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) on Monday carried out a drive to evict illegal shops and buildings occupying roads and footpaths in Gulshan-1 and Gulshan-2 in Ward No. 19.

During the drive on Monday afternoon, DNCC cleared around 250 illegal shops around Gulshan-1 and Gulshan-2 roundabouts. As a result, about two kilometers of roads and footpaths were cleared from encroachment.

In addition, two restaurants have been issued warnings for preparing food in unsanitary conditions, and another restaurant’s trade license is in the process of being revoked due to violations.

The operation was led by Dr. Zulqarnain, Executive Judge and Regional Executive Director of Site-03.

Zulqarnain said: “Illegal shops and structures on roads and footpaths are disrupting normal traffic flow. To reduce the suffering of the people and ensure traffic discipline, eviction drives and mobile courts will continue to remove illegal encroachments.”
