Midwest Radio – Mayo hit harder than any other county by Storm Ashley, with nearly 2,000 people still without power

Around 2,000 homes, farms and businesses across Mayo are still without power this afternoon.

Yesterday, Storm Ashley caused a major power outage as it hit the West Coast.

Met Éireann said the estimated time for power to be restored in Mayo is 2pm.

It is hoped that all power will be restored in the area this evening.

Met Éireann regional manager Siobhan Wynne says Mayo has been hit hardest.
