With devotion to Euro-Atlantic structures – Telegraph

International civilian envoy Peter Feith began a four-day visit to the United States on Monday to consult with key institutions and stakeholders in Washington, DC. It will notify US officials at the State Department, the Department of Defense and the National Security Council about the implementation of the ICO mandate. He will also give a speech at the US Institute of Peace.

On this occasion, the International Civilian Representative expressed gratitude to the United States for the strong and ongoing support it provides to the people of Kosovo, including the work of the International Civilian Office. “We are proud to have American and European personnel working together on this mission, and we appreciate their dedication and contributions,” Feith said.

“Clearly, significant progress has been reported since my last visit to Washington in 2008. I will also emphasize the need for the Government of Kosovo and its international partners to continue to focus on needed reforms. The People and Government of Kosovo Kosovo is committed to moving towards European and Atlantic structures, and we can best advance these efforts by supporting reforms,” Feith stressed.

Feith also said that we have seen important steps taken in the field of decentralization and the creation of the Constitutional Court. The challenge now, he said, is to ensure that good governance and respect for rights, especially the rights of minorities, become unshakable and irreversible features of the Republic of Kosovo. /Telegraph/
