Aaron Rodgers’ unexpected words leave Greg Jennings speechless: “I don’t think he realizes…”

He said 49ers cornerback Carlos Rogers asked him about running short routes during the game, which Jennings later blamed on his contract year.

He then mentioned that Rodgers approached him and told him to go play for the 49ers next season.

“You guys should get it at the end of the year.” According to Jennings, that’s exactly what Rogers said.

The former Packers wide receiver was confused and upset by what his quarterback told him.

“I don’t think he realizes what he said and the impact it had. If the shoe was on the other foot and I said, “Hey man, I should go play with your quarterback,” he would be so offended by that. But when it comes out of his mouth – and we all know there is truth in jokes – for him to say it and just act like everything was the same? Jennings said.

It was at this point that Jennings realized his time with the Packers was coming to an end. In 2013, he signed a contract with the Minnesota Vikings.

Greg Jennings and Aaron Rodgers haven’t played together since 2012. But times have changed as Jennings thinks differently about Rogers. After Robert Saleh was fired by the New York Jets, Jennings spoke about Rodgers’ role in the Jets’ decisions on “Breakfast Ball.”

He credits Rodgers with influencing Jets owner Woody Johnson to part ways with Saleh.

“And when you empower a player the way he did, and that obviously goes from Robert Saleh to Hackett, all the way to Woody Johnson, because for them to be able to talk, that tells me that he they talk too much, he has too much information about things that he really shouldn’t talk about.” Jennings concluded.
