Melbourne District Music Awards announce 2024 nominees

Recently announced Melbourne District Music Awards announced the nominees for their debut edition, and audience voting is now open.

Due to the fact that the award ceremony will take place in… Gasometer Hotel On Saturday, November 16, in Collingwood, the humorously named group MDMA revealed the artists up for three major awards.

Topping the award is the Song of the Year award, which goes to Select all Don’t cry over spilled milk, Terra Rouge Couch songAnd Dirty Gwen Marshall Fields everything goes face to face.

Meanwhile, Album/EP of the Year will be competed for Tudor Club Cross-fire, My frivolous aunt 8 Billion Characters in the Worst Movie of All Timeand the effort of the same name HP Peace.

The evening will also feature two more awards, including a Best Group Award, which will be voted on by groups, and a Participation Award, which will be decided by the audience at the event. Each award will also come with a $250 cash prize and a trophy.

First announced last month, the MDMAs are described as “a ceremony for local indie/rock musicians in Melbourne”, unlike many other ceremonies that focus on fun and frivolity.

“Our mission is to encourage, reward and celebrate true local independent artists, and to empower and strengthen the community that is so important to Melbourne’s music scene,” event organizers said.

Its debut event on November 16th will also boast a red carpet, live performances Tile And Parakiand will also feature special guest presenters from the industry to help host the evening.
