A fire in the Monticello building resulted in a complete loss.

MONTICELLO, Maine (WAGM) – A building was completely destroyed in a fire in Monticello Monday night.

According to Monticello Fire Chief Morris Pinette, the structure fire was reported to the Monticello Fire Department around 11:00 p.m. on Monday, October 22, 2024. The fire occurred in a building at the corner of Britton Road and Route 1. Chief Pinette says crews were working to put out the fire until 4 a.m. Tuesday.

No one was injured as a result of the fire, but the structure was completely destroyed.

Chief Pinette says there was a marijuana manufacturer operating in the building, but could not confirm the name of the business.

The Monticello Fire Department was assisted by the Bridgewater and Littleton fire departments.
