A modern archdiocese’s anti-slavery plan – Archdiocese of Brisbane

In a 2019 presentation, Pope Francis stated:

Supporting Catholic Teachings

As Catholics, we are called to recognize and promote the dignity of every person, as taught in the Gospel and Catholic social teaching. However, modern slavery – both around the world and here in Australia – continues to undermine these principles.

Our Commitment to the Archdiocese of Brisbane

The Archdiocese is committed to playing an active role in the fight to end modern slavery by:

  • Risk identification in our supply chains
  • Interaction with suppliers goods and services to ensure they understand the risks
  • We are working on a solution who minimize and eliminate modern slavery risks in their activities

Legal Responsibility: Statements on Modern Slavery
