This unique field watch, whose design is inspired by the Hamilton trench watch worn by American soldiers during World War I, dates back more than a century.

Luckily, Japanese fashion brand Engineered Garments absolutely knows what it’s doing when it comes to style and design, and the brand’s new collaborative take on the iconic Hamilton field watch looks like a minimalist masterpiece.

Minimalist khaki field

For the Hamilton x Engineered Garments Khaki Field Titanium Automatic, both brands decided to scale down the design of the watch, both in terms of style and size.

In terms of style, this meant removing the signature inner 24-hour track from the dial, leaving only the Arabic hour markers and outer minute track. The dial features a striking black sunburst pattern with a subtle concentric ring pattern on the minute track. The hands are also black and coated with white luminescent coating, and all lettering, including the luminescent indexes, are in bright white, giving the watch a monochrome appearance.
