A Wisconsin man has been charged after a violent fight at a Gold Coast bar, police say.

CHICAGO – A Wisconsin man has been charged for allegedly hitting another man with a glass during a bar fight on the Gold Coast over the weekend.

According to Chicago police, the incident happened just after midnight Sunday morning at a bar in the first block of West Division Street.

The victim, a 27-year-old man, got into an argument with Pedram Sadeghi, 24, of Mequon, Wisconsin. The argument escalated when Sadeghi hit the victim with a glass, cutting his neck.

The victim was taken to Northwestern Hospital in critical condition. No other injuries were reported.

Sadeghi was taken into custody at the scene and charged with one count of aggravated battery, a felony. He is due to appear in court for custody on Tuesday.
