Brisbane Brewing Co is one of the oldest breweries in its home city. Right now they are looking for a new brewer to take over the company.


Job Description: Experienced Brewer/Distiller.

Brisbane Brewing Co is seeking an experienced Head Brewer/Distiller to join our West End location.

About you:

  • As the successful candidate you will primarily work within the Brisbane Brewing Co. area. in the West End, as well as periodically working at the Woolloongabba site.
  • You have at least two years of commercial brewing experience.
    • Formal education in brewing/distilling is highly preferred.
  • You have a driver’s license with a full manual and can drive a large van.
  • You are physically fit and capable of carrying 25kg bags of malt and lifting 50 liter kegs of beer.
  • You are motivated by the prospect of working in a family business alongside colleagues who are passionate about producing and serving our own range of craft beers and spirits.
  • You will understand that the brewery is very well established and brews a wide range of beers including our core range, seasonal beers, small batch beers and a range of ready to drink spirits.

About the brewery:

  • Brewery in West End (Queensland)
  • Established 20 year old family business
  • 12HL system, 2-3 12HL brews per week, including RTD production
  • This is an old system and is under development.
  • Main business
    • Predominantly serving our two busy venues (Brisbane Brewing Co in the West End and Brisbane Brewing Co in Woolloongabba). The kegs are also sold to selected local craft beer establishments in Brisbane on an ongoing basis. Producing a variety of core beers, as well as numerous small-batch beers, specialty and seasonal beers, collaboration beers and a range of alcoholic, ready-to-drink products.
    • Secondary Business (i) – Bottling of our primary range of beers.
    • Secondary Business (ii) – Producing spirits (gin and vodka) in our 150L distillery.
  • Regular participation in AIBA, Royal Qld Beer Awards and other craft beer events.

  • Located in the West End.
  • 150l still
  • Possibility of producing a wider range of products

Your package:

  • Salary negotiable, depending on experience, $80-85k (monthly discretionary bonus also offered).
  • Full time, five days a week
