Man charged with murder on Hamilton street

A 56-year-old man has been arrested and charged with the death of a man and the attempted murder of another man in Hamilton.

William Copeland, 36, and a 59-year-old man were found with serious injuries in the Burnbank Center area of ​​the city at around 3.50pm on Monday.

The 56-year-old is due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court later and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

Police said all road closures and restrictions on access to shops in the area have been lifted, “although a heavy police presence will remain in the area.”
