Opera in Musical Theatre: West Coast Philharmonic, Chelsea Burns and Laney O’Sullivan at Perth Concert Hall

Opera and music theater staged a battle of brands when WA soprano Chelsea Burns and Irish vocalist Laney O’Sullivan performed the West Coast Philharmonic Orchestra’s Carmen Under the Phantom at the Perth Concert Hall.

Opera took first place, with Bizet’s Carmen Overture getting off to a frantic start before the violins moved with aplomb into the Toreador Song, building to a deafening rhythm on Saturday.
