The Council of Trade Unions (NZCTU) is holding protests in key centers across the country against what it calls the government’s “continued attacks on workers’ rights”.

“This is the most anti-worker government we have seen in decades, attacking our rights day in and day out and trying to divide us,” the statement said.

About 1000 people gathered at Aotea Square in Auckland on Wednesday, and more chanted as they marched through Wellington city center on their way to parliament.
