“I will spend time thinking and processing.”

The ruckman is reflecting on 2024 ahead of the off-season.

Despite the heartbreaking end to the 2024 AFL season, Brodie Grundy says he is reflecting on the huge success the club has achieved this year.

His final interview with Sydney Swans Media this season came just days before his one-year anniversary with the Reds, having been brought into the team during the 2023 Continental Tires trade period.

“I really enjoyed my first season here at the Swans. If I think about it, I see great success along the way,” he shared.

“The group talked so much about how they have grown this year and I really enjoyed playing a small part in that.”

The two-time All-Australian arrived in the port city having played 194 games for Collingwood and Melbourne. His valuable experience across four finals campaigns, including the 2018 Grand Final, has proven essential to the team’s success, bringing leadership and maturity to the young group.

Grundy celebrated his 200th birthdayth A career match in Round 6 against the Gold Coast Suns, where he scored his first Guernsey goal.

“There have been so many great moments and stories this year, but for me it was probably my 200th game here at the SCG against Gold Coast,” Grundy explained.

“To score that goal and have a lot of support from my teammates and the crowd.”

The 30-year-old finished the season with an average of 18 disposals, 32 strikeouts and five clearances. His best performance of the season came in round 14 against the Adelaide Crows with 49 put-outs, 31 clearances and nine clearances.

Grundy admits he hasn’t set any goals for the upcoming pre-season as he continues to reflect on last year.

“I will spend time thinking, processing and unpacking. And then consolidate the knowledge gained this year. I haven’t decided on my intentions yet. It’s still pretty fresh.”

The team will return for pre-season training in late November/early December.

“There is no doubt that I will be fit and ready to attack in 2025. My body feels good.”

I’m really motivated. And being in this environment, it’s hard not to be.
