Oakland woman charged with child sex crimes

An Auckland woman has been charged with indecent assault and grooming a young man.

Police began investigating the woman, who is in her 30s, last month after being alerted to the matter, a spokesman said.

She is charged with indecently assaulting a boy under 12 and soliciting sexual conduct with a youth.

She was released on bail and was scheduled to appear again in North Shore District Court on Nov. 15.

“The police investigation continues with the support of Oranga Tamariki,” the spokesman said.

“As the matter is before the court, police will not provide any further details.”
