Bhaishul Tuten Named Walter Camp FBS Player of the Week

Virginia Tech’s rushing attack has been nothing short of sensational this season, thanks in part to one man, Bhaishul Tuten. Tuten was just named the Walter Camp FBS National Player of the Week following his four-touchdown performance against Boston College, where he also threw for 266 yards. Tuten totaled 871 yards in seven games. He averages seven yards per carry and has 12 rushing touchdowns.

Bhaishul Tuten, pitching against Boston College, had a historic night after breaking the Hokies’ single-game rushing record. This game raised the question: “Will Bhaishul Tuten be able to catch Ashton Jinty as the country’s leading player?” which showed several points where Tuten could be in the discussion to take over as the nation’s top player.

“Tuten has scored at least one touchdown per game this season compared to Ginty, who scored none against Portland State. Tuten currently has 10 touchdowns on the season and five games on the season if he could consistently score by receiving and rushing, and he had a good chance of doing that.”

Tuten increased his record for at least one touchdown in a game this season to nine.

Let’s see what our very own R.J. Best man said about Tuten.

“Virginia Tech has had many dominant single-game performances by its running backs throughout program history, such as Darren Evans’ long-standing record of 253 yards rushing in a single game or Mike Imo’s dominant 243-yard performance. Evans achieved this. a feat with thirty-two carries, similar to Mike Imo, but Bhaishul Tuten needed just eighteen, breaking Evans’ long-standing record with 266 yards rushing in just eighteen carries. I didn’t touch it this year.”

This Saturday, Tuten and the Hokies will face a good defense in the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, so we should all be keeping an eye on how Tuten plays against them. Also, will Tuten continue his streak of single-game rushing touchdowns this weekend? Tune in this Saturday at noon on ACC Network to find out.
