Corvallis beat Hamilton in a football game

On Friday, Oct. 18, Corvallis hosted Hamilton in a football game featuring the Bitterroot Valley teams. It was a tough game with strong performances from both teams, but in the end the Blue Devils beat the Broncs to win 30-6.

Corvallis QB Aidan Main had a great night. The 6-foot-5 senior had five total touchdowns, including two rushing and three passing. Corvallis senior Hunter Loesch had two touchdown receptions and Corvallis senior Solomon Morgan had a 23-yard touchdown reception.

“I’m very proud of our players and coaches,” said Corvallis head coach Josh McCrossin. “We are pleased to see our team continue to improve throughout the year. “Competition wins are always hard to come by, so we’ll be sure to enjoy them when they come before we turn our attention to Stevi next week.”

Corvallis is 4-3 on the season and still in search of a spot in the Class A state playoffs. They make the short trip north to take on Stevensville in the regular season finale this Friday at 7 p.m.

Hamilton’s only touchdown came in the 4th quarter on a 42-yard touchdown pass from QB Cooper Weston to Braden Lancer. Hamilton fell to 1-6 on the season and will host Paulson this Friday in its final regular-season game.

Falcons soar over Blue Hawks

Florence Falcons hosted Thompson Falls on Friday, Oct. 18 and won 45-14. Florence (7-1) jumped out to a 38-0 lead for its seventh straight victory. The Falcons outgained the Blue Hawks 429-99 in total yards.

The Falcons will travel to Missoula this Friday to take on rival Missoula Loyola. The winner will be crowned the West B Conference champion and earn the No. 1 seed in the Class B state playoffs.

Against Thompson Falls, Florence QB Mason Arlington had another impressive game, throwing for 300 yards and 4 touchdowns. Jake Schneiter returned the interception 39 yards for a touchdown. Bridger Alexander ran for a 17-yard touchdown and had a 12-yard touchdown reception. Isaac Bates had 4 catches for 128 yards, including a 51-yard touchdown catch. Brody DuChine had 5 catches for 86 yards and a 10-yard touchdown reception.

Bitterroot Soccer Review

Darby Hosted Seeley Swan on Thursday, October 17th and lost 38-70 in an offensive explosion that resulted in over 100 combined points.

As for Darby, McCoy Townsend rushed for 217 yards and 3 touchdowns and also had a receiving touchdown and a passing touchdown. Jordan Browning passed 60 yards for a touchdown and received a touchdown. Browning also had an interception on defense.

Darby is currently 3-4 and will play her final game this Friday at Charlo Stadium (0-8) on October 25th.

Stevensville played first place Frenchtown on Friday, Oct. 18, and lost 56-0 to the powerful and undefeated Broncs. This Friday, a young Jackets (0-8) team will play their final game of the season at home against Corvallis (4-3).
