Veteran and legendary actor-director Anupam Kher, who is gearing up for the release of Netflix’s Vijay 69, admitted that he misses his own child with wife Kirron Kher.

Anupam, who married actress Kirron Kher in 1985, has a stepson Sikander Kher, who is also an actor.

“I didn’t feel it that much before, but now sometimes I want it. I think in the last seven or eight years. It’s not that I’m unhappy with Sikander, but I think it’s a joy to see a child grow up. It’s nice to see the connection and this is an honest answer to you. I could avoid answering this question, but I don’t want to. But that’s okay. This is not a tragedy in my life. But sometimes I think it would be nice,” Anupam told Shubhankar Mishra when asked if he misses his own child.

He added: “I was very busy with work all this time, but after I turned 50-55, I started to feel empty. This was mainly because Kirron was busy and so was Sikander. I work with children in my organization: the Anupam Kher Foundation. We work with kids a lot, and sometimes when I see my friends’ kids and stuff like that… (I miss the kids), but it’s not a feeling of loss.

Anupam Kher was previously married to actress Madhumati Kapoor, while Kirron was married to Gautam Berry.

The actor will next be seen in a Netflix series. Vijay 69which will premiere on November 8th. It also stars Chunky Panday and Mihir Ahuja in lead roles.
