Mehbooba Mufti claims migrant workers were pressured to leave valley, police say this is completely baseless

“While I understand their obvious feelings of panic, asking them to leave in this way is not a solution. This will only create more difficulties and send a very bad signal to the country. J&K recently witnessed peaceful elections without terrorism and this knee-jerk reaction will only prove otherwise,” she further said.

“It may also create resentment against Kashmiris working and studying in other states. Ask Chief Minister @OmarAbdullah and LG @manojsinha_ ji to intervene and at least give them enough time,” Mehbooba added.

The Ganderbal police, however, termed it as completely baseless.

“The recent post on social media that visiting workers are being asked to leave is completely unfounded. J&K Police is committed to maintaining safety and a sense of security for all who intend to earn a living,” Ganderbal Police wrote on X.
