Spencer Tunick films hundreds of nudes at Story Bridge

Spencer Tunick wants to see you naked. The American photographer is known for organizing and photographing large nude installations in famous locations.

Although his career began in New York 30 years ago, Tunick is no stranger to Australia. He has photographed nudes in Melbourne parks and car parks and inside and outside the Sydney Opera House, but has never had an exhibition in Australia until now.

Tide runs from September 28 to November 10 at the Brisbane Powerhouse and is part of the Melt Festival. Works from Tunic’s Tide series, which captures bodies along the Brisbane River, will be on display here.

Later this week, Tunick will temporarily close the river road to collect and shoot naked bodies at Brisbane’s Storey Bridge. If you want to take off your clothes and become part of a work of art (like Leaflet editor made back in 2018), a recruitment of volunteers is announced. Each volunteer will receive a printout of their final work. Howard Smith Wharves also has a cash bar open from 9am for anyone looking for a drink to warm up after a cool naked morning on set.
