Australian eels prepare to fight kiwis

Four Eels have been included in the Australian squad for this week’s major Test matches against New Zealand.

While the Kangaroos and Jillaroos take on their Kiwi counterparts in Christchurch on Sunday, four of the Eels’ Australian Test representatives crossed the ditch.

Mitchell Moses is set to continue his career as a midfielder for Australia after making his debut in the Kangaroos’ hard-fought 18-0 win over Tonga last week. In his first match since a torn biceps, Moses led Australia around the park with confidence and made a number of key defensive plays.

Zach Lomax lined up on the wing, also making a successful debut for the Australian national team. The Eels’ rookie took over the goal-scoring duties and scored three runs for the Kangaroos while scoring 155 runs.

Mahalia Murphy retains his place on Team Jillaroos after their clash with the Kiwi Ferns. Nine years after her debut, the Eels captain made her long-awaited return to the Australian Test team with a thrashing of Papua New Guinea last week.

Abby Church a chance to make her Jillaraosa debut after being named on Australia’s extended bench. Church was in the reserves last week as the Jillaroos’ 18th player as she approaches her first cap for Australia.
