Adelaide forward signs monster contract extension to become Crowe for life

Adelaide key forward Darcy Fogarty is likely to remain with the Crows for life after signing a mammoth seven-year contract with the club.

The 25-year-old will be linked with the club until the end of the 2031 season, with six years added to his original contract, which expires at the end of 2025.

Fogarty, who was added to the Ravens’ leadership group in 2024, had the best season of his career, scoring 41 goals and finishing fifth in the club’s best and fairest.

The 192cm key forward will play an important role in Adelaide’s future alongside towering Riley Thilthorpe and veteran Taylor Walker approaching retirement.

AFL TRADE AND DRAFT NEWS:

Fogarty was set to become a free agent at the end of next season and is sure to attract plenty of suitors looking for a reliable key striker.

“I love the club and feel we are moving in an exciting direction,” Fogarty said in a club statement.

“As forwards we have built great chemistry and it has been good to learn from some of our senior players and now we have the opportunity to pass on some of that knowledge and experience to others.

“No career is without challenges and I feel like I’ve made real progress in my first 100 games and I’m looking forward to seeing what the next 100 games hold for me.

“I would like to finish my career as a player for one club, the club believed in me and I am happy to repay them and continue the journey with my teammates.”

Fogarty has improved his goal scoring over the past four seasons, scoring 24 goals in 2021, 33 in 2022, 34 in 2023 and 41 goals last season.
