Georgia, Texas and Tennessee switched major divisions

Is Georgia back at the top of the SEC? We’ve seen this movie, right? It’s just that this time the sequel has a new villain – Texas, not Alabama. Bevo was pushed back for the first time this season, and the Bulldogs reclaimed the top of the power rankings. Then there’s a cluster of one-loss teams and everyone thinks, “We’re in the playoffs,” even though about half of them won’t make it.

2. Texas (6-1)

this week: at Vanderbilt

What you need to know: Texas fans littered the field with trash over a controversial call, were reprimanded by Steve Sarkisian, were disciplined by Georgia and found themselves not rooting for the best team in the country. Tough night for the Longhorns.

What you need to know: The Vols tried to stage a second-half comeback for the second week in a row, and Knoxville police made sure Neyland’s goalposts didn’t end up in the Tennessee River again.

What you need to know: This is what Jimbo’s final A&M team should have looked like, right?

5. LSU (6-1)

What you need to know: The Tigers take on the Aggies this week in a matchup that no one thought would result in the bottom two SEC teams posting a zero in the league’s loss column.

6. Missouri (6-1)

What you need to know: The Missouri offense is a sports car when Brady Cook is driving and a Ford Pinto when he’s not, and it took a midgame truck ride to the hospital to prove it.

7. Alabama (5-2)

Last week: 6

What you need to know: This isn’t your grandfather’s Alabama team, but it might be your father’s team.
