Bruce A. Stevens, 69, Fairfield

Bruce A. Stevens, 69, of Fairfield, passed away at 8:22 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2024, at his home. Born Dec. 3, 1954, in Fairfield to Byron and Esther (Papas) Stevens, he graduated from Southern Illinois University in 1977 and worked as a manufacturing engineer for Airtex until his retirement. He was also a member of Wayne City Baptist Church.

Bruce is survived by his wife Janie Stevens of Fairfield, daughters Megan Stevens of Carbondale and Stephanie (Jason) Greenwalt of Johnsonville, son Chris (Sydney) Raber of Mount Carmel, 5 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, sister Kaye Schroeder of Lake St. Johns. Louis, MO, 8 nephews, 7 nieces, lifelong friend Gary Fleming and his beloved dog Ruffy. He was preceded in death by his parents, his late wife Tammy (Jones) Stevens and his sister Janice Waugh.

A private graveside service will be held at Thomason Cemetery in Wayne City. Memorials in his honor may be made to Wayne City Baptist Church and will be received by Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
