Three Australian establishments, including two in Melbourne, have been named in the World’s 50 Best Bars, a prestigious list compiled by a global academy of bartenders and critics.

Caretaker’s Cottage, a tiny spot in Melbourne’s CBD that accepts walk-ins only, was the country’s top drinking establishment and also became the top bar in Australasia, rising from 23rd to 21st in the world rankings announced in Madrid overnight.
