“Working with Kim and the talented team at Dior has been a dream come true,” says Lewis Hamilton. “I was honored when Kim asked if I wanted to do it with him.” It’s not hard to see why: Ever since Kim Jones took the reins at Dior, she’s become something of a tastemaker. The capsule circles the globe, drawing parallels between the artistic traditions of Europe and Africa, synthesizing materials and practices. Jones and Hamilton are breaking new ground by filling the Dior x Lewis Hamilton capsule with fresh daywear suits, using traditional Dior tweeds and African fabrics in equal measure. The materials also have symbolic meaning: Both men have “a desire to celebrate Africa and an interest in the craft processes and techniques that combine African craftsmen with the craftsmanship of the Dior atelier,” Jones says.
