Brisbane’s biggest hits and misses of the past five years of drafting and recruiting

Josh Jenkins has outlined Brisbane’s biggest hits and misses over the past five years of drafting and recruiting.

The former Adelaide Crows forward will rate each of the 18 clubs AFL Trade Radio and to present what he believes have been the hits and misses when it comes to acquiring players over the past half-century.

Read his thoughts on Leos below:

Brisbane hits

“As for their great success, you can choose for yourself, but I think that luring Joe Daniher it’s hard to get past the north,” Jenkins said. Late Deal.

“He’s hard to beat because he’s been at the very peak of his powers and at the top of the pack or in the top two when it comes to key forwards the entire time he’s been with the Brisbane Lion.

“As I said, he achieved it by becoming premier in his last game of AFL football.

“You could also say that getting Darcy Wilmot and Kai Lohmann at 16 and 20 years old in the same draft is also very convenient.”

Brisbane misses

“It’s quite difficult for them to find a big mistake,” Jenkins added.

“Perhaps you can say Deven Robertson at peak 22 – miss.

“But I think he will go to another club and become a really consistent AFL player. He simply cannot break into a truly dynamic midfield.

“As they say, things are not as bad as they seem, but in the case of Brisbane, things may be better than they seem.

“These Leos are destined for even greater success.”
