There is a very real possibility that Salah could leave Liverpool in the summer of 2025. His current contract with the club expires in June 2025, meaning he could leave on a free transfer at the end of this season, and negotiations have stalled.

Liverpool have rejected a £150 million ($194 million) bid from Saudi Professional League side Al Ittihad in 2023 and it is likely that clubs in that division could reignite their bid to sign Salah. Paris Saint-Germain are also reported to have shown interest.

Mohamed Salah contract negotiations: latest news, updates

According to Football Insider, Salah is is ready to negotiate a new deal, but wants it to be valid until June 2027 with so-called “mega money.” It is claimed that the Liverpool striker wants to achieve legendary status at the club by breaking goals and assists records.

However, whether the club is willing to keep him until he reaches the age of 35 is another matter, especially if his wage demands are significant.

Slot would not comment on Salah’s future or contract negotiations with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk, who have also been touted to leave Liverpool. No breakthrough was achieved, which could potentially be a source of frustration for the manager.
