Minnesota credit unions joined forces to spread kindness across the state on Monday, October 14th.

MAPLE GROVE, Minn., Oct. 22, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — TopLine Financial Credit Union, a Twin Cities-based member-owned financial services cooperative, was one of 60 credit unions and partner organizations in Minnesota to took part in an organized day called CU Forward Day. A statewide initiative involving over 3,000+ employees, members and credit union partners united to do one simple thing – spread kindness and encourage others to do the same.

TopLine has been participating in this joint credit union event since 2016, called CU Day Ahead, which is coordinated by the Minnesota Credit Union Network (MnCUN), the state trade association for Minnesota credit unions. Day Ahead CU demonstrates that credit unions are going above and beyond, collaborating and contributing to their communities.

This year’s TopLine theme was “By connecting, we are all more successful!More than 143 TopLine members have volunteered more than 554 hours and provided assistance to nearly 2,800 Minnesotans at local partner nonprofit organizations including ACBC Food Shelf, Advent Lutheran Church, Avenues for Youth, Beyond the Yellow Ribbon, CROSS Services, Family Alternatives, Karen Organization of Minnesota . , Keystone Community Services, Maple Grove Hospital, MORE, NACE Food Shelf and Cupboard, Twin Cities Union Gospel Mission, YMCA Youth and Family Services and several local park cleanups.

Volunteers have made a positive impact in the communities TopLine serves by providing fall cleanup at Advent Lutheran Church and Avenue for Youth, delivering meals to Keystone Meals on Wheels participants, serving lunch to residents of Union Gospel Mission’s local ministry, and providing assistance. to several local food shelves, helping to improve a park, packing personal care kits and birthday bags for YMCA Youth & Family Services, creating inspiring signage for Maple Grove Hospital, packing and delivering 1,000 personal care and dental kits, creating 100 blankets for ties and knitted over 100 scarves for local foster children at Family Alternatives. TopLine also organized a bike ride to benefit Express Bike Shop, a nonprofit youth employment program, and collected 157 bikes for donation.
