School district launches Fresh Fruits and Vegetables program

The Ysleta School District wants to promote healthy eating among elementary school students by offering fresh fruits and vegetables throughout the school day.

Starting Tuesday, the Ysleta Independent School District will launch a fresh fruit and vegetable program in eight schools, offering students fresh produce on Tuesdays and Thursdays until May 29, 2025.

According to Ysleta ISD, these campuses received more than $200,000 from the Texas Department of Agriculture to purchase fruits and vegetables for the program.
