Hezbollah is restoring its command and field structures in conditions of war – MP

A Hezbollah member in the Lebanese parliament says the resistance movement has “rebuilt its command and field structures” amid the ongoing war with the Israeli regime.

Ali Fayyad told Al Jazeera on Monday that the resistance fighters would be of “better quality” in the coming days.

He noted that Israel has exhausted its targets and has failed to make any progress on the ground over the past two weeks.

“The enemy has exhausted its bank of targets… They are now in a dilemma and have not been able to make any field gains in the last 15 days,” the lawmaker said, noting that Hezbollah is adopting a strategy of “attrition” against Israeli forces. army.

Fayyad also warned that any Israeli decision to launch a ground invasion of Lebanon “would cause it serious losses.”

Regarding ceasefire efforts, the lawmaker said the movement separates the field confrontation from diplomatic efforts, but stressed that the priority “is to stop the aggression and achieve a ceasefire.”

He noted that the power of resistance in opposing aggression is the “fundamental pillar” of the government’s political position.

Israel has been targeting Lebanon since October 2023, when it launched a genocidal war in the Gaza Strip.

Hezbollah responded to the aggression with numerous retaliatory operations, including the use of a hypersonic ballistic missile aimed at the occupied Palestinian territories.

Since late September, Israel has stepped up attacks on Hezbollah, killing its leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and a number of its senior figures.

Since the fighting began last year, at least 2,464 people have been killed by Israeli fire and another 11,530 injured, according to the Health Ministry.

The Lebanese resistance movement has vowed to continue its operations against Israel as long as the Israeli regime continues its war in the Gaza Strip, which has so far killed at least 42,603 Palestinians, mostly women and children.
