Giovanni Pernice has opened up about a possible return to Dancing With the Stars months after leaving.

The beloved BBC program was engulfed in scandal last year after allegations against Pernice, 34, were made by his former dance partner Amanda Abbington, who quit Strictly last year after five weeks.

The broadcaster recently published the results of a months-long investigation into his behavior on the program and apologized to Sherlock actress Abbington, 53, while upholding some of her complaints and clearing the Italian professional dancer of the most serious allegations.

A review of Abbington’s complaints against her Strictly Professional dance partner was launched earlier this year and Pernice, who is not part of the Strictly Professional Dance line-up this year and has since joined the Italian dance show, previously denied “any allegations of threatening or abusive behavior”.

Since then, there have been rumors that Pernice could appear in shows such as I’m a Celebrity and Celebrity Hunt.

However, in a new interview he also spoke about a possible return to the Strictly dancefloor.

After announcing his new UK tour, Pernice spoke about the possibility of a comeback and explained that he still has a close relationship with the judges and presenters, especially Anton Du Beke, as the duo have just announced their latest project together.

He said: “Anton was my best friend. As you can imagine, at this point in my life you will learn who your true friends are.

“But all the judges and presenters stayed with me. All of them.

He added to The Daily Mail that he would “talk about all this” to the BBC, saying: “I’m glad they got the result they did, but there are a few things I want to talk to them about.” .’

Speaking about his possible return, Pernice did not rule anything out.

— Next year? he asked. – It’s too far. “I’m only focused on Bianca (his dance partner on the Italian version of Strictly) at the moment.”

It comes after claims he could also appear in a Strictly special later this year to mark the show’s 20th anniversary.

The episode is due to air in December and is said to feature “iconic performances and familiar faces past and present”, including footage from Pernice’s 2021 performance with Rose Ayling-Ellis.

The former Strictly couple won the competition that year and won a Bafta for their silent dance.

A source told The Sun: “Giovanni made history when he won with Rose, so footage from their emotional silent speech will be shown.”

The BBC is yet to confirm or deny whether Pernice might appear in person as speculation continues to swirl, with a spokesperson telling the publication: “Editorial decisions about what the final show will include have not yet been made.”

It comes after Pernice declared: “I’m back, baby” while announcing his 2025 UK tour.

He’s also making a big return with Strictly Judge Anton as they hit the road on the 2025 Together Again tour, which kicks off in June.

In his previous response to the BBC investigation, Pernice recently wrote in an Instagram post that he was “happy” to have been cleared of serious charges after a “difficult” few months.

In a video for fans, he said: “Six months, seven months of all this, seven months of reading everyday news in the newspaper and not being able to respond because I wanted to keep the privacy and confidentiality of the review, was a difficult time.

“It was difficult because reading things that weren’t true wasn’t the most enjoyable time of my life, let’s be honest.

“But today I am happy because in the beginning there were very serious charges brought against me, but to date none of the serious charges have been confirmed.”

He continued, “I have to be honest with all of you because without your love, your messages, your support, your constant encouragement, I don’t know if I would even be able to make this message right now.

“I’m happy because today I can continue to do what I was born to do and I love doing something that entertains all of you.

“This is my life, this is what I do, so I’m always grateful to all of you and I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart and say that I love you all and always, always thank you. ‘
