Lauren Dickason received deportation order

Dickason was found guilty last year of murdering her six-year-old daughters Liana and two-year-old twins Maya and Carla at their Timaru home in September 2021.

She strangled the children, but said she was so mentally ill that she could not be held criminally responsible for their deaths.

During her trial in Christchurch, a jury rejected her arguments of insanity or infanticide and found the 43-year-old woman guilty of murder. She was given a limited sentence of 18 years in June this year.

Immigration New Zealand National Compliance Manager Fadia Mudafar spoke New Zealand Herald Dickason was served with a deportation order today.

“Immigration New Zealand plans to proceed with her deportation after completion of her sentence,” Mudafar told reporters. Herald.

Mudafar also said Dickason’s situation would be assessed before the deportation took place.

Dickason will be eligible for parole on September 19, 2027, and could be deported to South Africa shortly after his release.

However, she must appeal her conviction and, if successful, a second trial could be held.
