Nathan Smith and Yahya Zeb added to Firebirds Pace shares

Reigning Men’s Player of the Year Nathan Smith has been named in the 12-man Firebirds squad traveling to Tauranga today and will make his season debut against the Auckland A’s tomorrow.

Paceman Yahya Zeb, who was given a contract after Smith was named to the BLACKCAPS contract list, is also included and could be selected to make his Wellington debut tomorrow.

The Firebirds’ depth has been a topic of discussion throughout pre-season as they have a large playing group thanks to a significant number of BLACKCAPS contracted players as well as random signings who have made themselves available for selection.

Adam Milne and Logan van Beek make way for two players as both absentees split workloads as part of their summer performance plans.

The rest of the squad remains unchanged as the Firebirds look forward to tomorrow’s clash with Auckland at Bay Oval.
