Grigg nominated for AFLW Rising Star award

Elaine Grigg has been nominated for the 2024 Telstra AFLW Rising Star Award after an outstanding performance in the Week 8 win over Carlton.

Grigg collected 13 assists, 10 tackles (tied for a game-high) and scored a goal against the Blues to fuel a 33-point win over IKON Park.

Born in Kenya, the 18-year-old made a major contribution in her debut season, taking the AFLW world by storm with her pressing, tackling and speed.

Grigg was selected with the Dogs’ third pick (pick 6) in the 2023 AFLW Draft from the SANFLW Central Counties.

She made her debut in the first round against GWS and has since played in every possible game, averaging seven disposals and five tackles.

She becomes the Bulldogs’ first Rising Star nominee of the season.
